Black Mesa Signature Custom

Built for guitarist Phil Brown.

Body: figured Claro walnut bookmatch over singe-piece black limba

Neck: Torsion Logic, one-piece curly maple with kingwood (rosewood) fretboard

Frets: jumbo (150) nickel-silver

Pickups: humbucker/single coil/humbucker by Jason Lollar

Controls: volume, 5-way pickup selector, tone with pull-on coil tap switch

Hardware: Gotoh/Wilkinson tremolo, Sperzel locking tuners

Phil had this to say:

"so...i have had many strats and les pauls, several 7 strings, a few other custom made gtrz, and then i have the black mesa guitar.

it's loaded man...like an entirely different animal. sleek/powerful and it's a fascist instrument. el greco kind of thing...no mercy.

big thick neck for a determined hand and luxurious fingers. lollar pic-ups...

big phat frets and a wilkinson tailpiece. the wood...ahhh the wood. it's exotic - u will have to ask mr clint

where he comes up with such other-worldy ideas regarding guitar building.

it has a strat/les paul thang...big beautiful and so f****n wide sounding/feeling as to suspend disbelief.

lots of guitar makers these days - but clint co-created this guitar from heavenly mindset 'specially for me.

if i had any reservations they're gone now. maybe you can catch mr d in a moment and he'll make you one too.

be prepared to lose it all - in an instant. you'll find yourself walking inside the outside in/of the great big wide open...phil country.

adventurous and extremely dangerous for the weak at heart. this guitar has moxie.
